A Culinary Journey Across Continents

Volta do Mar is the culmination of a journey of discovery my wife Isabel and I embarked on over many years. We traced our family history through travel and food, exploring how Portuguese culture intertwined with others across continents and distant seas. This journey inspired the creation of our restaurant; Volta do Mar, which means "to return from the sea."

Our menus at Volta do Mar highlight the rich and diverse regional cuisine of Portugal, celebrating the international culinary influences from Portugal's vibrant trading history. We offer traditional Portuguese classics and dishes inspired by countries along Portugal's former trade routes, including Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique, Goa, Macau, and Japan. We aim to celebrate the unique flavours and cultural connections of Portuguese food from around the world.
